As a young girl she loved to compete, especially against the boys. She played soccer and took riding lesson to be an equestrian. It wasn't long after that at age 11 she was stricken with an illness and given three days to live. A miracle happened and she had a full recovery, but her Achilles tendons became very restricted ending everything she could compete in. So, she then decided to race junior dragsters. Her first season she was racing every weekend at any track that was open to juniors. At the end of the long disappointing season, she had one round win. She fitted for a custom-built dragster tailored to her. This launched a whole new career for Shannon. Breaking out in her second season she had a dragster and trailer painted to represent the Blue Angels. Shannon became one of the most sponsored and publicized juniors in North America. Shannon earned the nickname Frankenstein when she and her father traveled to Orlando for the racing/auto show in December to meet all of her sponsors at the same location. She recently married the love of her life and she and her husband Nick parent their deaf dog Echo, Frankie the Cat, a rabbit named Frank and triplet lizards Jax, Roman and Piper.
